The current study used the human Caco-2 cell line and mouse intestine to explore the
topology of expression of the class B type I scavenger receptor (SR-BI) in intestinal cells.
Results showed that intestinal cells expressed only the SR-BI isoform with little or no
expression of the SR-BII variant. The expression of SR-BI in Caco-2 cells is differentiation
dependent, with little or no expression in preconfluent undifferentiated cells. Analysis of
